The traffic must still be overwhelming the BCALA website servers. It’s still down earlier today. Nicholas Schiller had the foresight to provide us with the text of the BCALA press release through Evernote. This morning, March 14, 2014, Jerome Offord, Jr., current president of BCALA offered some clarification for the BCALA press release. Many, many thanks to my friend and colleague Max Macias, a.k.a. Lowrider Librarian, for making Offord’s statement available on the Web.
Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is is a BBC game show. However, we’re not talking about games here.
Like Schiller, I, too, hope this whole thing goes beyond talking dollars and cents, financial and economic feasibility. And as I said previously, these social justice matters are issues of life and death, literally and figuratively, for many people. Such important issues warrant more than easy lip service.
And to my BCALA brethren, there are many of us who hear you. Solidaridad.
