2013: Year of the Black Snake

Expect the unexpected.

Maddi is very interested in Chinese and Japanese astrology. We discussed the upcoming New Year in the Chinese lunar calendar–the year of the black water snake.

Here, I must reveal my ignorance. I hope my ancestors forgive me. I am very uncomfortable with my (subpar) knowledge of Feng Shui, Chinese zodiac and astrology. From what the interwebs tells me, 2013 is a great year for those of us born under the Chinese sign of the Ox. Maddi tells me I can expect great, unexpected things. Fortune! Luck! Goody.

Meanwhile, I’m happy to simply look forward to some tikoy. The first day of the Year of the Snake is February 10, 2013. Gong Hey Fat Choy!
